The funeral service for HSH Princess Marie von und zu Liechtenstein on Saturday, 28 August at 2 p.m. is reserved for invited guests due to lack of space. However, the service will be broadcast on the national channel (TV) and www.landeskanal.li (via live stream). In addition, there are the following possibilities to commemorate Her Serene Highness Princess Marie:

Thursday, 26 August: 6:30 p.m. - Transfer to Vaduz Cathedral

Thursday, 26 August: from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Laying out in Vaduz Cathedral with opportunity to sign the book of condolence

Friday, 27 August 2021: from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Laying out in the cathedral with the possibility to sign the book of condolence

Friday, 27 August 2021: 7:00 p.m. - Prayer of the Rosary in the churches of the Liechtenstein parishes

Sunday, 5 September 2021 as well as Sunday, 3 October 2021 both at 9:30 a.m. - Memorial Masses for the 7th and 30th respectively in Vaduz Cathedral

Her Serene Highness Princess Marie von und zu Liechtenstein died on 21 August 2021 at 4:43 pm in the hospital in Grabs. After her health steadily deteriorated following a stroke on 18 August 2021, she passed away today in the presence of her family and after receiving the Holy Sacraments of the Last Supper, peacefully and with great trust in God.

The German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier invited the heads of state of the German-speaking countries to a meeting in Potsdam on 28 and 29 June 2021. Other participants included the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, the King of the Belgians, the Federal Presidents of Austria and Switzerland, and the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein. The annual exchange between the heads of state serves to maintain good relations as well as to deepen a number of topics that are of particular importance to these countries.
