H.S.H. the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein addresses the "Challenges and Opportunities of Small States" in his public lecture at the Europa Institut at the University of Zurich. Small states are confronted with special challenges due to their small size. But they also have special opportunities that are often less well known.

The Hereditary Prince receives Medal of Honour of the Canton of Zurich

Following the lecture by the Hereditary Prince, Cantonal Councillor Ernst Stocker awarded him the Medal of Honour of the Canton of Zurich as an expression of the excellent, friendly relations between the Principality of Liechtenstein and its Head of State the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein and the Canton of Zurich.

H.S.H. the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein speaks at the World Leaders Summit in Glasgow, UK, about climate change and the global responsibility of every state.

The World Leaders Summit on 1 November 2021 kicked off the 26th United Nations climate change conference (COP26). From 31 October to 12 November, COP26 is bringing together the 197 parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These include the EU and all EU member states.

Today we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our constitution and can be justifiably proud of this anniversary. After all, our constitution is not only the basic framework of our state order, but also an important foundation for the so successful development of our country in recent decades. [..]

In his traditional speech, H.S.H. the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein addressed the strength of Liechtenstein, the 100th anniversary of the constitution, as well as the pandemic and its challenges for the near future. As a sign of solidarity, the Hereditary Prince presented 11 flag bearers with a flag of the respective municipality. These were carried into the respective municipality after the act of state and hoisted in the evening at the same time as the national anthem.
